Inexperience showed up as Chelsea went down 1-2 to Man City

Chelsea’s six games winning streak came to an end at the Etihad with a 2-1 defeat to EPL champions Man City. The result also means that the blues’ seven games winning run on the road has ended.

Though Lampard’s side started superbly, controlling the game with precision and intense but they failed to replicate such in front of goal.

After a deserved lead from N’Golo Kante in the 22th minutes the blues were in total control of proceedings. But Their lead could only last for 7 minutes before Belgian midfielder De Bruyne scored the leveller for Pep’s side. City completed the quickfire 8 minutes from the break with a brilliant drive and finish from Mahrez to make it 2-1.

Lampard’s boys put up a great performance controlling most of the game. Such confidential possession by the blues causes Pep to record his lowest possession of the ball in 381 games of his coaching career.

The Londoners were good and deserved at least a point, but inexperience played out as some youngsters fizzled out of the game.
