With the end of the calendar year nearing and all of Europe’s top five leagues reaching their mid-way point, stat website Whoscored has revealed the combined best XI of players from all top leagues up till now.
As expected, the Premier League dominates the best XI with five players making the team from England’s top flight.
Ricardo Pereira and James Maddison complete Premier League’s representation from the team.
Timo Werner and Bayern superstar Robert Lewandowski are the two players included in the team from Bundesliga and Los Blancos striker Karim Benzema sees his name present for La Liga after scoring 11 goals in 14 appearances in the league this season.
A surprise inclusion in this team is of goalkeeper Gautier Larsonneur from the French Ligue 1 side Brest. They currently sit in 14th place in the league and have conceded 20 times in 17 games but the 22-year-old has an average rating of 7.29 courtesy of the number of saves he has made.
